mired with low productivity due to poor quality of workforce. At the same time, large sections of the country’s youth are looking for economic and livelihood opportunities. In this context, skill
development has become a key priority area for the country. This is not only essential for economic development, but would also help to fulfil youth aspirations for good quality, better paid jobs and self-employment opportunities. This would also enable the country to take advantage of its favorable demographic profile. With a large pool of skilled people, India has an opportunity to become a skill provider for the world, particularly the ageing developed world.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (2016 – 2020) is a modified and improved version of PMKVY 2015-2016. It is the flagship outcome-based Skill Training Scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). This Skill Certification Scheme aims to enable and mobilize a large number of Indian youth to take up skill train
The scheme focuses on three key thrust areas:
The Short-Term Training imparted at PMKVY Training Centres (TCs) is expected to benefit candidates of Indian nationality who are either school/college dropouts or unemployed Apart from providing training according to the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), TCs shall also impart training in Soft Skills, Entrepreneurship, Financial and Digital Literacy Duration of the training varies per job role, ranging between 150 and 300 hours. Upon successful completion of their assessment, candidates shall be provided placement assistance by Training Partners (TPs) Trainings imparted under the Short-Term Training component of the Scheme shall be NSQF Level 5 and below
Recognition of Prior Learning commonly known as RPL largely refers to an assessment process used to evaluate a person’s existing skill sets, knowledge and experience gained either by formal, non-formal or informal learning The scheme aims to align the competencies of the un-regulated workforce of the country to the standardized National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) The scheme will boost employability opportunities of an individual as well as provide alternative routes to higher education The scheme will provide opportunities for reducing inequalities based on privileging certain forms of knowledge over others
The Special Projects component of PMKVY envisages the creation of a platform that will facilitate trainings in special areas and/or premises of Government bodies, Corporates or Industry bodies, and trainings in special job roles not defined under the available Qualification Packs (QPs) / National Occupational Standards (NOS) Special Projects are projects that require some deviation from the terms and conditions of Short-Term Training under PMKVY for any stakeholder A proposing stakeholder can be either Government Institutions of Central and State Government(s) / Autonomous Body / Statutory Body or any other equivalent body or corporates who desire to provide training to candidates

- GKITR is a registered partner to the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and authorized to implement the project at either its own centres or franchisee centres by NSDC, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship
- We work as a conduit between PMKVY Project Implementation Agency and various Academic Institutions, Colleges and Independent Training Centres
- Our experts enable our stakeholders to implement the scheme seamlessly and onboard them officially as an approved Training Centre under The GKITR training provider registration id
- GKITR is affiliated with various Sector Skill Council (SSC) within the ambit of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE)
- We ensure that our basic training is in line with the SSC job roles and qualification packs to make it industry and sector relevant
OUR SCOPE of consulting for PMKVY implementation scheme is as follows:
STEP 1: Onboarding of Training Centres
STEP 2: Accreditation of Training Centres & Certification
STEP 3: Allocation of Training Targets to Training Centres
STEP 4: Logistics Management and Claim Processing for Reimbursemen
Our team will manage the end-to-end logistics and backend data-processing activities for claim processing with the PMKVY on behalf of our accredited Training Centre. The activities include and not limited to:
- Validate and verify all data that must be submitted to the Project Management Unit of PMKVY in terms of apprentice credentials, training progress, time-sheet/attendance records, assessments and submit the same accurately to PMKVY for approvals
- To coordinate with the PMKVY to ensure acknowledgement and receipt of the data uploads
- To ensure that the Training Centres implement PMKVY in absolute compliance to the guidelines and governance framework
- To follow up with the Project Management Unit of PMKVY with regards to release of payments
